The Dark Star Radio Is Rebuilding Its Signal

Dark Star Radio relocated from Chicago to Orlando so founder and station director Jessika Darkstar could attend Full Sail University and continue developing the next era of the station.

Moving an independent radio platform across the country meant rebuilding more than a studio. We had to reconnect with listeners, restore our programming, develop new partnerships, and begin laying the foundation for Dark Star Radio’s future as a larger community-driven media platform.

The signal is growing again.

Our Latest Listening Statistics

Our statistics dashboard currently only allows us to view data as far back as May 27, 2026. Between May 27 and August 3, Dark Star Radio recorded:

🎧 10,627 total listeners
👤 1,552 unique listeners
📡 68 peak simultaneous listeners
⏱️ 21 minutes and 48 seconds average listening time

The dashboard also reports:

• 100% growth in total listeners
• 100% growth in unique listeners
• 58% growth in peak listeners
• 9% growth in average listening time

Listeners are tuning in from around the world, with the largest current audiences coming from the United States, Germany, Finland, and Hungary.

The Signal Has Traveled This Road Before

Before COVID, Dark Star Radio reached approximately one million listeners overall, with peak periods of around 5,000 people listening simultaneously.

Unfortunately, we no longer have access to enough of those older statistics to create a complete comparison between the station’s earlier years and its current rebuilding period. The numbers available today only show part of the story.

But they show something important.

People are finding the station again. They are staying longer. The audience is expanding, and the Dark Star signal is once again traveling far beyond its physical home.

Chicago Roots. Orlando Future.

Chicago will always be part of Dark Star Radio’s history. Orlando is where we are building what comes next.

Jessika’s education at Full Sail University has become part of that evolution, helping transform Dark Star Radio from an independent underground station into the foundation of a broader media, technology, and community ecosystem.

We are still rebuilding. We are still experimenting. We are still independent.

And the signal is getting louder. 📻🖤
