by The Rogue DJ (Dark Star Radio | Mourning Coffee)
This morning’s Mourning Coffee was heavy with prophecy and caffeine and if you missed it live at Cemeterium, don’t worry. The replay is already spinning on Mixcloud, and the full time-stamped playlist is up for patrons. (Find the Links below!)
But here’s the marrow of what I wanted to put on the record: stop writing the same broken story. We’ve been trained since childhood to rehearse the same tired trope: good versus evil. The righteous hero with the shiny sword, the faceless villain to be destroyed. The crowd cheers, the book closes, the cycle repeats. That story doesn’t heal the world—it feeds it into the grinder again and again.
The truth? The world bends toward the stories we tell. Writing is manifesting. Broadcasting is spellwork. Every time we repeat the old tropes, we reinforce the cage. But when we write something new—when we dare to imagine sovereignty, joy, clarity, communities that help each other instead of crushing each other—we create cracks in the script Fear keeps selling.
It’s not about ignoring darkness. It’s about refusing to keep Fear on the throne by writing it endless screen time. The world doesn’t need more caped heroes and cartoon villains. The world needs us—all of us—writing futures that aren’t chained to that binary.
Here’s the invitation: don’t just consume stories. Write them. One sentence, one stanza, one riff is enough. Writing is how we plant seeds of the future. If you’re tired of the script we’ve been force-fed, pick up the pen and start bending the page.
Use these sparks as doors:
Worlds of Reciprocity
Where communities function like ecosystems, not corporations. Where giving isn’t debt but nourishment.
Prompt: Describe the last time you gave something freely—what would it look like if the entire world worked that way?
Worlds Without Thrones
Where no heroes or villains hold the stage. Power is shared, not hoarded. Authority dissolves instead of ruling.
Prompt: How would justice look in a world without rulers or saviors?
Worlds of Fierce Joy
Where joy isn’t naive but revolutionary. Where music, art, and ritual are lifelines, not luxuries.
Prompt: What act of joy could overturn despair in your imagined world?
Worlds of Clarity
Where truth doesn’t need to be hidden or bought. Fog lifts, eyes open.
Prompt: What truth would your world put on every street corner?
Worlds That Heal in Public
Where grief is not hidden away but shared in ritual and remembrance.
Prompt: What would it mean if mourning was collective instead of private?
Worlds Beyond Fear
Where survival isn’t the ceiling, and love isn’t treated like currency.
Prompt: What replaces fear as the driver of your world?
Worlds of Multiplicity
Where no single “reality” rules. Yours, mine, ours—coexisting, sovereign.
Prompt: How would your world honor differences without erasing them?
These are just sparks. What matters is what you write. Because every poem, every riff, every broadcast, every act of creation is a seed. Stop planting weeds. Start planting worlds worth inheriting.
